										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cold Calling is where you call a company that you have never called before. Cold calling on businesses via the phone can be a challenge. Now a days there a lot of technology out there to help you make the calls. But making calls is not everything and I believe its all about the approach to the conversation. On the phone it take the first 10 second to establish a report with the gate keeper and even the buyer. So my advice in cold calling companies is to learn what is the best warm up approach you may have. Make as many calls as you can because its all about the numbers game. However if your approach is wrong good luck!</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2023. As I reflect on this last year its been a tough one for me. I wont go into all that happened but as I move in to a new year its always best to get a new start. So that being said here is a few tips I want to share going into this new year. You can also listen to my new podcast ringing the new year to tag along with this blog. So I believe everything starts with confidence in yourself and if you are confident you will be a better motivated and a better sales person. So I always talk about being prepared and this will bring confidence. For example being prepared for work and ready to pay attention and ready for training. Always be willing to train and learn new ideas. Learn what kind of customers you have,Learn new sales techniques, be motivated in general. Still not confident yet I would recommend learning everything about the products you are selling. Even if you own your own business you still need to learn your customer and what gets them in the door to buy from you. There are so many sales people out there that dont even know about the products they are selling. So you see how can you be confident when you dont know your business. You need to be the expert at what you do and know all the in and outs of your business. Alway be teachable from everyone around you. Another tip I can tell you is to stay away from complainers and debbie downers. These people will do nothing but drag you down the rabbit hole. Alway invest in yourself and be prepared to thinks as a successful person does. If you think your the best than you will be the best. Think big be big!!!! So going into this next year be positive even when things arent going well for you. You see it always easy to find negativity in the world thats the easy part. ingnore this and think positive at every turn. Welcome to 2023 and lets do this!!!!!!!!</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I wanted to write this blog about what I always tell my sales staff! In sales there are two different kinds of people in the world. Weather you agree or disagree with me. In my experience as a top salesman I recognized that I could always control the conversation. This would be true in any situation weather it would be on the phone or in person. You see customers are looking for a salesperson to take the lead. So example the sales person is supposed to be the one that has all the knowledge. You know the expert in his field! You take the lead by giving your expert advice and the follower listens to the leader. Sometime you will have two leaders on the phone or in person and this type of customer will not listen to you and may even rebut some of your knowledge. This is not your customer to sell! But if you can take the lead in the conversation and lead your customer to view the product and give them the knowledge that you know. You will have a better chance at selling them. You have to project a strong voice and sound very knowledgeable about your field and they will listen. Therefore you have a leader and a follower! Remember you are as strong as you project yourself as!</p>

During the holidays we are making purchases like crazy therefore we need money! what better way to put you sales to work. What you have to realize is that during the holidays most people are in the giving mood. So you need to exploit that and use it for your advantage. Most people want to be sold and many people just cant make their mind up. So here you are! The one to solve their problem and make their mind up for them. All you need to remember is be willing to get in front of the customer and give them the information about what you are offering them. I find that there are two different kind of sales people. The one&#8217;s that go and get the customers and the ones that wait for the customer to come to them. I have noticed sales people standing outside of stores selling chocolates and just watching people walk by expecting people to come to them. Well it doesnt normally work that way. You need to be willing to get in front of each customer and tell them why you are there and what you are offering them will benefit them. Even chocolate doesnt matter what you are selling. Thats the difference between selling a little or selling a lot. So this Christmas be humble and kind to each other and remember to not be shy and go get that Christmas Cash!!!!!!</p>

<p>There are a set of phone skill you need to be able to excel your ability to sell over the phone.</p>
<p>I have a ebook coming out that will go in more details about the skill sets you need. But ill go over a few with you in this blog post.</p>
<p>1.before you get on the phone you need to make sure you have the right attitude. You need to be in a positive state and be ready to preform like an actor. Even when you may not be in the mood for it.</p>
<p>2.Get your leads ready or call list and arrange them where you can make 1 call after another without stopping. You want to be able to call another customer right after you hang up the phone and get yourself into a grind. “Tunnel vision calling”</p>
<p>3.Once on the phone with the customer you want to show excitement about why you are calling them and be happy to talk with them. “Excitement sells” Low voice tones and sad conversation will only turn off the customer</p>
<p>4.“Bring your voice up and use voice inflection” this will show your customer you are confident in your sales abilities. Makes the customer trust that they are in the right hands.</p>
<p>5.Stand up and use your hand to talk, this will give you even more confidence as a sales person, by doing this it          will give you a sense of power over your customer.</p>
<p>6.If you have a script that you are following? It is imperative that you follow it word for word.</p>
<p><strong>These are just a few things you can apply to make you better on the phone today!</strong></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One key component to being a great sales person is you have to be mentally tough. I mean not letting anything or anyone bring you down. There are always obstacles in the way that will try to detour you from success. But I find the people that are willing to stick it out through the toughest parts of the job will always be the ones that become successful. You see failure is all around us everyday in some sort of another. I believe failure is just a part of our normal human being life cycle. If you ask yourself &#8220;Have I ever failed at something?&#8221; you will probably answer &#8220;Yes&#8221;. So now that we have determined that everyone fails now we need to understand how to not fail. This is all about the learning process and some people are better than others. Its called determination and drive the bare essentials for success. You have to be willing to listen to criticism and critique and take it well and understand its not what or how someone says it to you but why are they saying it to you. When you have perseverance there is no room for failure. Success needs to be worked on everyday and be a part of your life in order to have a mental toughness mind set.  You must look at giving up, being lazy, and feeling like the world is closing around you as just obstacles that are easily defeated. So the mind set need to be a positive one obviously and you need to persevere through when you want to give up.</p>

I know it hard and everyone has bad days,months,years but you need to stay positive so you can attract positivity to yourself. You see people dont like hanging out with people that are downers and it drives people away. There is always going to be haters out there and they may look at how perfect you are and hate on you. Dont let the haters get to you and keep doing what you always have. It may take awhile but you will eventually get rid of them because haters and complainers dont like hanging around positive people or winners. So my advice is to stay positive and be a winner!</p>

<p>Sales interviews are always fun to do for me. Some people don’t have any sales experience and some people have lots of sales experience and some people think they have some experience. Funny story is that I had this guy come in my office the other day and tell me he had lots of sales experience. So I asked him to tell me about his experience and where he had worked. He said he had worked at an electronics store on the sales floor and also worked at an auto parts store so that’s where he got most of his experience. So I asked him “ so your saying you have been in retail sales?” seems like people have a misconception of what sales really is. Sales to me is selling a customer a product or service with no intention of buying. Working on a sales floor helping customers find what isle their favorite ear phones are located isn’t my idea of sales. Lmao I had another potential sales rep tell me that he 20 years of sales experience and was their top sales person. I asked him why is he looking for another job and he said hes looking for a better opportunity. I asked him what type of close did he have? <p>Just like in any sales job you must be willing to train for it. So many people start a sales job and expect to do as little as possible. They expect that in the little time that there is a training meeting or a talk about the sales processes that that’s all they need to learn. In all my years of training top sales people this has always been the problem. You see if you want to be a top producer of any sales job you need have the endurance to train. This mean train as often as you can and always be willing to improve yourself and your skill set. There is always time to train and make room for improvements. I trained everyday and thought about how I could be better at my sales job. I was always picking the brains of other sales people and asking them what are they doing wrong and how did they fix these issues. I think if you are not willing to put the effort in to training then you shouldn’t be in sales. “Stay strong and train hard” John Ferguson</p>

<p>So I am sitting here wondering what I could have done better as a sales trainer. I bring these sales people in a start to teach them the sales job. I cant understand people sometimes? I often wonder why they decided to get the sales job in the first place? I feel like they come in the job with no goals in mind or any kind of motivation. Mine always has been to be successful and make money of course. I guess when they find out that they actually need to work on themselves to be better they have a problem with it. You see sales is about ourselves and until we are willing to improve ourselves and habits we cant begin to be better at sales. People are always making excuses why they aren’t getting better. I have seen this for many years now and the successful sales people are always willing to do what it takes to change. So some sales people this is easy for them and some people this is hard to do.
